Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. After working as a fashion model and songwriter, she decided to sign with Warner Bros Records and release her debut album "Dua Lipa" in 2017. The album climbed to No. three on the U.K. Charts. The album had eight singles that were released, including Be the 1 I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as sixth in the charts. Lipa's album, which has since been certified platinum in a variety of countries across the world was awarded two Brit Awards (in the year 2018) for British Female Solo Artist as well as British Breakthrough act. Dua Lipa was the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London, was born on 22 August 1995. Her parents are of Kosovo Albanian descent. Bosnian ancestry through her grandmother. Her family tree can be identified back to the Kosovo city of Peja. Her grandfathers were historians as well. She is a sister to Rina Lipa, and has a younger brother named Gjin. Her musical inspirations come from her father who was the guitarist and singer of the Kosovan The rock band Oda. The music played by her father was at home, and included songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at age five. When she was nine, she started learning to sing. Lipa sang If I'm Not I Gotta You by Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera to be uploaded on YouTube. Lipa was signed to Warner Bros. Records a agreement in 2014. She released her first single New Love in August of 2015.
