Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media analyst for more than twenty years. She is well-known as a public speech writer. She founded Feminist Frequency which is a website that features videos and comments on the representations of women in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian a Canadian American media critic. She is the creator and executive director of Feminist Frequency which is an education, non-profit website that explores representations of women within popular media narratives. Committed to destroying the stereotypes of women that exist in pop media, she is also working on issues related the gender-specific harassment of women as well as different classes of individuals online. Sarkeesian holds a York University master's in social philosophy, political and philosophical thinking. Alongside being a popular public speaker she has made speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO The XOXO Conference as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was launched in the year 2009 by Sarkeesian. a University student who has been fascinated by issues related to gender and feminism for quite a lengthy period of. This ambitious woman planned to launch an internet program that would examine gender representation in games, however, she was also the subject of an online campaign to harass her. The harassment didn't discourage her. The experience only strengthened her as a journalist who is feminist. She has won many awards for her contributions to the cause of feminism.
