Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass October 3, 1962 in Athens to David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and Vassiliki Papadimitriou as who was a contestant in the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou). Athena her younger sister is also drummer. Lee was just two years old when his father relocated his family to California. He also got his first drumsticks when he was four and his first real drum set when he was 16. In pursuit of a career as an artist and performer, he quit highschool and joined the L.A. nightclub band Suite 19. When he was a teenager He listened to Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Cheap Trick, Kiss, AC/DC and Sweet. His most significant drumming influences include John Bonham, Tommy Aldridge, Alex Van Halen and Terry Bozzio
